Blackjack Strategy Chart on Even Count
This is a good, basic strategy blackjack chart to follow on a normal Vegas 6-deck shoe. The assumptions for this specific chart
is that the dealer stands on all soft 17's, you are allowed to surrender (which is a huge rule to the benefit of the player),
you are allowed to re-split aces, and as already mentioned, we're on a six deck shoe. This deck is a little more detailed and may
be easier to read than the basic strategy chart presented on the introduction page.
Notice some important distinctions with this chart and other charts you may have come across - if you see an 'X', this means
Surrender! This occasion will occur when you have 16 against a 9, 10, or ace, or 15 against a 10.
If you are a card counter (which we will teach you how to be), this is the chart to use when the deck is in a pretty neutral
state. And, of course, by this I mean that there hasn't been a material shift in low cards or high cards. This will
be discussed in more detail in our card counting section. If you are not a card counter, then this is the chart that you should
play by.
Note the intricate play on A7 - soft 18 - you will do just about everything with this hand, Stand, Hit, and Double Down.
This is all basic strategy that should be memorized. Of course, you could always print out the chart below and keep it in your
pocket. You are allowed to have this chart with you on the blackjack tables!
The key for the following chart is 'S' to Stand, 'H' to Hit, 'D' to Double Down, 'sP' to Split, and 'X' to Surrender.
The first AND last rows are what the dealer is showing. The first column is your hand.
